This voluntary benefit addresses long-term care and covers type of care that are generally not covered by health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.

Coverage will help pay for the necessary care in the event of age-related medical needs, a debilitating accident or a disabling health condition. Employees and spouses ages 18-69 are eligible to enroll. Coverage is provided through ACSIA Partners, a national leader in long-term care planning, in partnership with LifeSecure Insurance Company.

Affordable Care Act

The ACA was implemented on March 23, 2010, and is intended to increase access to health care for more Americans. Tobacco Use Change

An additional $30 premium is added to your medical plan cost if you or spouse covered as a dependent on your medical plan uses tobacco or vaping products. The maximum charge for use is $30 a month added to your health premium. Life insurance and long-term disability premiums are also higher for tobacco users.

If an employee or covered spouse identified as a tobacco-user becomes a non-tobacco user for three consecutive months, the tobacco or vaping product use status can be updated through Workday by choosing "tobacco use change" as the benefit event type.

Changing Tobacco User Status in Workday

Go to your Workday homepage, then Benefits>change>benefits select the “tobacco use change” and complete this benefit event to appropriately document your tobacco use status.
