Associate Deans of Research
Our three Associate Deans of Research are key leaders in advancing research across the College of Engineering and TEES. They work closely with our 15 departments and 26 centers and institutions, providing guidance, transparency and strategic support.
Their focus is on empowering researchers and departments to thrive, helping them reach elite status in the higher education research community through collaboration, innovation and leadership.
StAR Project Offices
Strategically Aligned Research (StAR) projects are large-scale initiatives with the potential to make a big impact across disciplines, industries, and communities. To support and promote these efforts, dedicated StAR Project Offices have been established, each led by a TEES Associate Agency Director.
These offices help drive collaboration, manage project execution, and align efforts with national and global priorities. Current focus areas include:
- Space – including leadership through the Texas A&M Space Institute
- Semiconductors – in coordination with the Texas A&M Semiconductor Institute
- Health & Human Performance – featuring the NSF-funded PATHS-UP Engineering Research Center
- National Security – advancing next-generation technologies in hypersonics, directed energy, nuclear and cybersecurity
- Industrial Relations and Commercialization
