Employees are to required to complete certain training requirements upon employment and to renew these trainings during the course of their employment. All courses are available through TrainTraq in Single Sign On.

TrainTraq External Gateway

On occasion, a non-employee, volunteer or visitor is required to complete certain trainings before engaging in a volunteer/visitor activity. This is accomplished through the external gateway and requires a password. Record of completion is to be presented to the host/coordinator of the activity for record keeping. Please send an email to engineeringhr@tamu.edu for current password and assistance.

Mandated Training Courses

As outlined in System Regulation 33.05.02 Required Employee Training, employees are required to complete these courses upon employment. Some courses require renewal training during the duration of employment. Record of training completion is stored electronically in TrainTraq.

Creating a Discrimination Free Workplace

(Course #99002) The State of Texas mandates that all new employees must complete Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) training. The Texas A&M University System requires the training must be completed within the first 30 days of employment. All CURRENT employees, including student employees, must retake this training every two years.

Ethics

(Course #99001) Employee Training, System Policy 33.05 requires that ALL new employees and student employees receive ethics training within 30 days of hire. The policy also requires all current employees, including student employees and working retirees, to retake the ethics training every two years.

Information Security Awareness

(Course #3001) To comply with State code, ALL users of Texas A&M University System information resources are required to complete Information Security Awareness training upon employment and every two years thereafter. The training provides information relative to safe computing practices and related policies, rules and laws.

Reporting Fraud, Waste and Abuse

(Course #99003) This course will provide training on identifying and reporting instances of fraud, waste and abuse as part of the A&M System’s fraud prevention program and Executive Order RP36. The training requirements are to be repeated every four years.

Orientation to The Texas A&M University System

(Course #99004) This training provides a brief introduction to A&M System structure and governance and an overview of System policies

Working in Workday

This course is designed to introduce the Workday application to Employees and Managers within the Texas A&M University System.

Topics covered include:

  • Workday basics.
  • Navigating Workday.
  • Employee self-service.
  • Manager self-service.
  • Workday support.

This is a required course but highly recommended for new employees who will use Workday to manage their human resources, payroll and benefits needs. This course is developed by Workday Services, a department within the A&M System Office of Information Technology

Responsible Conduct for Research (RCR) Training

(Course #2111131) Employees in certain title codes, supported on TEES research projects, are required to complete this training and renew the training every three years. Training will be assigned automatically through TrainTraq in Single Sign On and an email notification will be sent upon assignment. Questions concerning RCR training may be directed to the TEES Ethics and Compliance Office. RCR training access information.

Export Controls Training

(Course #2111212) This course is a requirement for all graduate research students as well as all individuals being paid on projects that are export controlled. This course must be renewed every two years. Training will be assigned automatically through TrainTraq in Single Sign On and an email notification will be sent upon assignment. Questions concerning Export Controls training may be directed to the TEES Ethics and Compliance Office.

Financial Conflict of Interest in Research

(Course 2111716) Required of employees in a principal investigator eligible position title code and graduate assistants. Targeted at individuals who are responsible for the design, conduct or reporting of research. Training is to be completed upon employment and/or before engaging in research and at least once every four years thereafter. The assignment includes instruction to the employee to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement annually.

TrainTraq Reports

TrainTraq Departmental Training Administrators have access within TrainTraq to run reports showing employees by adloc who have been assigned a training and/or who are past due on an assigned training.
