COLLEGE STATION -- Dr. Stuart Scott, associate professor of petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University, was awarded the ASME International Henry R. Worthington Medal at the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Petroleum Division annual Industry Leadership Luncheon earlier this month in Houston. The medal was given to Scott for "eminent achievement in the evolving field of multiphase pumping, including his contributions to education, technology transfer and the development of the flagship USA research program on multiphase pumping." Scott’s research interests include multiphase production systems, multiphase equipment, well performance, well completions and reservoir engineering. He also oversees the Multiphase Field Laboratory (Riverside Campus), the Tommie E. Lohman Fluid Measurement Laboratory, the ChevronTexaco Drilling Fluids Laboratory and a production lab. He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering, a master’s in computer science and a doctorate in petroleum engineering - all from the University of Tulsa.
