Animals in Research

The use of animals for instructional, demonstration or research purposes comes under the federal guidelines of the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare and the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. All animal use in such projects must receive prior approval from Texas A&M's  Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).

The IACUC is responsible for the oversight, evaluation and assurance of compliance for the institution's animal care and use program and system components as outlines in the Public Health Service Policy, Animal Welfare Act, and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. For more information about the use and care of animals in TEES related activities, including forms, project approval and training, please contact IACUC Administration at (979) 845-1828.
