Rodriguez-Iturbe appointed TEES Distinguished Research Professor

Drrodriguez Iturbe 175X256jpgM. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Ignacio Rodriguez-Iturbe a Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) Distinguished Research Professor. The distinguished research professorship appointment was effective Aug. 1.

Rodriguez-Iturbe is a Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Ocean Engineering at Texas A&M University. He earned his Master of Science from the California Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. from Colorado State University.

His research interests include: coastal ecosystems; hydrogeomorphology; ecohydrology; river basin functioning and organization; and stochastic modeling of natural phenomena.
