Dr. Jim Wall has been appointed executive director of the Texas Center for Applied Technology (TCAT), Dr. M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of Texas A&M engineering announced recently.
Wall’s appointment will be effective Aug. 1. He currently serves as the deputy director and director of computing and information technology for TCAT, a center within the Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES).
In his new position, Wall will be responsible for establishing the direction, goals, agendas, implementation strategies and policies for the center. Additionally, he will be instrumental in the implementation of workforce development, technical assistance to small businesses and new programs and services designed to meet state needs including seeking funding from state and national agencies, industry and foundations.
