Student Research Opportunities
Many Texas university students have participated in our Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) projects and the Undergraduate Summer Research Grants program.
As part of these programs, engineering students have researched topics ranging from improving ligament repairs to developing a digital-to-analog converter. Students who work on these summer projects often continue their research during the regular semester.
Current REU projects are
- A Chemical Engineering Approach to the Materials/Biology Interface, Perla Balbuena, Chemical Engineering
- AERO-U: Aerospace Engineering Research Opportunities for Undergraduates, Jacques Richard, Aerospace Engineering
- Development of Micro-Turbomachinery, Nguyen Hung, Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution
- Electrical Engineering Research Applications in Homeland Security, Karen Butler-Purry, Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Mechanobiology of the Bat Wing Microvasculature, Christopher Quick, Biomedical Engineering
- Nanotechnology and Material Systems, Daniel Davis, Aerospace Engineering
- Research Experiences for Undergraduate Students at Texas A&M University's Department of Computer Science, Valerie Taylor, Computer Science
- Space Engineering Institute, Magda Lagoudas
